Our History
The Pittman-Padgett family is extremely proud to offer this scholarship to students attending Washington DC public schools. The scholarship, established in May 2003 is a tribute to the education our family received from the DC Public School system. More importantly, our intent is to provide monetary relief to our future leaders.
“Inspiring Knights” derives its name from our desire “to bring about champions” in all facets of American culture. This is made possible through the insight and inspiration of the following family members:
Edna Pittman, James Pittman, Marvin Pittman, Clarence Pittman, Velma Padgett, Gottrell Padgett, Connie Padgett, Pamela Padgett, Edward Padgett, Kenneth Padgett, Rayshell Padgett and Rayshawn Padgett (each attended DC public schools) for which the scholarship is named.

Our Mission
The IKPPSF 501c3 non-profit organization solicits and manages financial contributions from all sources, which will help offset expenses to students attending Washington DC Public Schools in purchasing school supplies e.g. educational software, calculators, books, school uniforms, musical instruments, educational school trips, clothes, senior class pictures etc.
